Chair of Computational Modeling and Simulation
The Chair of Computational Modeling and Simulation is part of the TUM School of Engineering and Design and the Leonhard Obermeyer Center of Digital Methods for the Built Environment. Our teaching and research focus lies on computer-based development of engineering products, in particular on the planning and realization of facilities using computational modeling and simulation tools.
The Chair is involved in teaching in the programs BSc/MSc Civil Engineering, BSc/MSc Environmental Engineering, BSc Engineering Science, MSc Computational Mechanics und MSc Information Technologies for the Built Environment.
Our research ranges from advanced methods of Building Information Modeling over Digital Twinning and Cyber-physical robotic construction, and includes graph-based computational design, the processing of point clouds, automated model generation, construction progress monitoring, additive manufacturing as well as pedestrian dynamics.
